The UXGA is top shelf, but I still think if people need to resize icons and letters, it is too small for the 15" screen. The UXGA 16.5" is about to come to market and will be second to none. If you have good eyes and don't mind resizing icons and the problems that come with doing this, then go for the UXGA.

Blanton also said resizing the icon size in the Item dropdown will not eliminate any duplicates that may have gotten into the cache. A delete of ShellIconCache will do that. I'm thinking there are two "caches" here... (a) ShellIconCache, which is at "C:\Windows". (b) A copy of that read into RAM.

What I'm looking for is something like Word's image resize which seems to produce nice results.... Word is probably loading a 16x16 icon when available in the resource and painting that. Little things like stopping the labels from being relocated on top of the icon itself. Maybe it's the offset?? Like I said, I'm kind of a newbie ... I can get the icon to display, however, the status bar seems to skew the icon (which is 16x16 pixels in size) to about 24x32 pixels in size. This is unacceptable, as the icon becomes extremely difficult to see properly. Resizing the icons would be a last resort, as there are a lot of icons that are used.

Other icons are ok. I've found that by deleting SHELL1~1 in C:\windows before starting up !PC then the icons appear fine until Windows95 is restarted. I've also found that by resizing the icons via the control panel I get the icons restored until I restart Windows95 again. Anyone got a clue what is going on?
